Yes, about Maria, of course! http://www.kousa.com/ima/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I always wondered why the belonging to celebrity means so much for people? Now when Maria won Wimbledon and became a star she has got alot of new fans, who love her (at least they are sure about that), admire her body, calling her "the most beautiful", "super hot", etc. etc., falling in love with her... What, didn't they know who is Maria Sharapova before that win? They did! Didn't they see her physical attractiveness before that win? They did! So why just now they became convinced she is so unique of? The same time they do not notice the girls (on the streets but not on the tv-screens), who much more prettier... I can understand they to acknowledge her tennis talent after the Wimbledon's win - here the perception of Maria as an ordinary player has been changed to the perception of her as a player who can be the best ever, but her look has been kept the same! But people do see it now differently.
And all that not only about her look.
It is all the star status about. So what you think is it THE STAR, and how you can explain this interesting phenomenon?

I'm afraid expaining the reason in my poor English.
However, I reckon now USA needs star. Thus, Maria can be it.
Since married guy richie, Madonna's popularity fell down.
Cuz of messy her personal life, such as one day marriage, Britney is thought to be nuts (but actually no, she is very intellient). Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan are now star candidate. But they still not be top idol Britney used to be.
Now American people's mind is exhauted of noending war. They really need star to heal their broken mind. Maria is beautiful, powerful, inoccent. She is just suit for American people's needs.

No way. You gotta give Russia credit for this one. Why is it always about the Yankes? She came from Russia and went to America to develop her raw talent into something spectacular. I think USA can keep looking because Russia are claiming her, and rightly so.
