If you would like, when you vote you can put down here which one you think your choice will win first.

I have, obviously, chosen my beloved Nastya.
She is well predestined for winning streaks, so perhaps even such a long one.
The key is in her inside. The overflow of emotions, id est.

I cannot see any Russian winning a slam, however. Not in the nearest future.
So, none of the names make it for me.

I voted for Petrova, but I'm not sure. Dementieva would be better than Petrova if she had a good serve. I don't see any of these winning a slam, however. Sharapova is a possibility, but she'd have to improve a lot. Time is on her side but she's so big and slow, plus she lacks variety in her game

I think that actually a couple of them could if they improve one or two things. Dementieva could win any of one them if she'd improve her serve. She and her new coach are working on it. Her game revolves around that shot, when it's bad (and keep in mind I mean worse than usual) her whole game is bad, and when it's better, her groundstrokes are even better. So if she improves her serve imagine how good she could be. Myskina is the best of them at this point. Petrova is inconsistent. Sharapova is still growing into her body. Zvonareva desperately needs to improve that temper. So there are several possibilities. I see Myskina, Petrova, and Sharapova doing it, the other two could if they improve those things.

I still believe that you have to have first of all a huge amount of Talent for this sport to win a Grand Slam....

so my Vote goes for Zvonareva

(topic was started at Clijsters, Domachovask, Petkovic and more... moved it to tennis-talk.... think it fits better here)

<font color='#736AFF'>hmm..this is a tough one, my head says nastja or sharapova but my heart says Krasnoroutskaya or Zvonereva.

Sharapova is still very young and has a lot to learn but she has lots of time to improve and achieve a Slam title, Nastja is at her peak right about now but is maybe lacking that killer instinct to get that title.

Lina and vera are cute so thats why i choose them ;)

But Maria Arkhipova is the clear choice to win a Slam :-D &nbsp;

<font color='#000F22'>HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

We have Svetlana here! She is the best in the world at her age. Has great, powerful shots, neverending fighting spirit, mature tactics etc. etc. Don't be surprised her making a very big noise at Wimbly in one and a half month. And she is a certain Top 3 finisher at the end of this year.

SO there I say: Svetlana Kuznetsova is The One I am looking at behind The Fair One.

The first Russian grand slam champ has been crowned Anastasia Myskina won the first all-Russian final, beating Elena Dementieva 6-1, 6-2. Dementieva had 33 UE's including 10 double faults. I was really disappointed in the way she played because she is one of my favorite players.

Not only the worst final but perhaps one of the worst tennis matches I have ever watched.

Well, I think it's a group of important russian players. All of them are increasing and improving their level.
But in 2005 I consider Masha, Anastasia and Svetlana with higher possibilities to win a Grand Slam. However, I think Elena will win her first Grand Slam this year...
