Reigning champions France will kick off their Fed Cup title defence against Germany in the northern French town of Amiens from April 24-25, the French Tennis Federation announced on Monday.

The first round tie will be played indoors on clay in the 3,000-seater Amiens Coliseum.

The last Fed Cup match played in the town was in 1996 when the French beat Argentina 3-2.

France won their second Fed Cup title in 2003 when they beat the United States 4-1 in Moscow last November. They previously won in 1997 when they beat the Netherlands.
