VENUES CONFIRMED FOR FED CUP SEMIFINALS

The venues have been confirmed for the 2005 Fed Cup semifinals on 9-10 July. Defending champion Russia will take on 17-time winner USA in Moscow, while 2003 champion France will host five-time winner Spain in Aix-en-Provence. Both venues are subject to successful site visits.

The Russian Tennis Federation announced that Moscow's Olympic Stadium will stage both the Fed Cup semifinal against USA and the following week's Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group quarterfinal against France on 15-17 July. The ties will be played indoors on a temporary clay court with a capacity of 11,400 spectators.

The French Tennis Federation announced that the Fed Cup semifinal between France and Spain will be held on a temporary hard court on the site of the Country Club d'Aix-en Provence with a capacity of 4,500 spectators.
