TeamWTA.com (http://www.teamwta.com) was founded 3 years ago. 3 years of reporting, features ,columns and newsitems. We are working hard to become one of the most popular websites on tennis on the internet. September is here and the indoor season is around the corner. This means we need to write even more match reports, columns, features and newsitems and that is where you come in! We are wanting to expand on three fronts: The ATP tour , matchreporters and columnists. Interested?
The ATP tour and matchreporters for women's tennis
First of all it's important that you love tennis. Whether you play it yourself or follow matches on TV only. That really doesn't matter. Next to that you also have to be able to write good and decent reports. Something that goes beyond: Nice one service because it was so hard. You as a ddedicated tennisfan knows exactly how to evaluate and analyse a tennis match. With a decent build up in your writing. You will have to at least report one tennis tournament a month, which is about 5 to 7 articles.
Columnists
Next to the matchreporters, we are also looking for columnists. The most important skill of a columnist is that he/she is able to write. What does that mean? What we mean is that you are a creative writerand that like playing with language. This means experimenting with the build up, structure and even with the concept of what exactly is a column. If you are up for these standards and can find resemblances with tennis then maybe you are the person we are looking for! As a columnist we would like at least one column a month.
And ?
Next to the fact that you are a matchreporter or a columnist, we expect from you that you keep up with the administrative forums daily. TeamWTA is a site that consists of volunteers and where everybody has relatively alot to say about the site's policy and direction this also means that there is alot of dynamics. We wouldn't want you to prevent from applying but every round shows that people underestimate the amount of time involved running a site.
Does it pay?
Unfortunately at this point we can't offer you cash, nor a computer or a company car. You will voluntarily work as a staffmember on the site but will agree with the obligations , like the ones mentioned above.
What we can offer you is a team staff that has lots of fun and that ofcourse is something of value all by itself. You will publish your articles in front of a world wide audience and you will have a @teamwta.com email addy.
Sounds good! Where do I go from here?
Just mail to: manfred@teamwta.com . Put in the subject line in what section you are interested in. Once we have all the submissions, we will make a first selection of people who will ask to write a proof article.
Submissions will close on September 30. The candidates will be handpicked by the Chief Editors, Associate editor and the current staff.
