Or should players just decide by themselves to play less tournaments?

I think the tennis season shouldn't shorter because I think they should study to understand don't play any unnecessary tournaments to have more rest time.

Also three tennis organisation (include ATP (http://www.atptennis.com/1/en/home), ITF (http://www.itftennis.com), WTA (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/1/)) should give any punishment (for example, suspend until further notice, a prize & ranking points should be start from zero) to some players (exclude Mary Pierce because she was hurt by Spanish Magui Serna in the second round of Wimbledon 2000, I think she should receive a warning) when they were announced for the tennis season should be shorten. I think they are not respect some tennis tournament (because I already said that they shouldn't play any unnecessary tournaments to have more rest time). Gun6

What do you think?

I'm confused to what you are trying to say. Anybody else?

I think it should be shortened by 2-4 weeks. Nithing to much but I do beleive it needs to be shortened.

Truth is if they are going to get hurt it can happen any time. But I think 2 months off would help the mental burn out problem and if you look at the year end Championships all the players look like crap by then.

Now I would like to see the girls play the best out of 5 like the men do, I would watch that. I dont think the girls have as much to complain about as the men do.

Looks like the ATP is cutting 2 weeks out of the tennis season starting in 2008... already some improvement...

Thats good news but I am sure the players will find some form of tennis to play on the off season if they are healthy, the Cups, WTT and other tennis events seem to fill in the off season or breaks. It is good to see they are doing somerthing to make it less harmful on the players.

Here is my opinon on the matter play One month after the US open and then play YEC for both tours and let the players have a good three months off and then re start the season in Januray as happens now. You get rid of meanless end of year tournments and the players get a rest. If players want to go and play exos in that time that's their choice.
