Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli put on a flawless display of power and precision in the ASB Classic singles final on Saturday, decimating fellow 21-year-old Vera Zvonareva of Russia 62 62 to capture her career-first singles title on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
Zvonareva did salvage one title on Saturday, capturing the doubles crown with Russian compatriot Elena Likhovtseva. The top-seeded duo posted a 63 64 victory over No.4 seeds Emilie Loit and Barbora Strycova. It was the third career Tour doubles title for Zvonareva, while it was the 25th career Tour doubles title for Likhovtseva.
