Hi folks!
After some exam time, I am finally at home and I could watch the Aussie Open.
Firstly, I hate it that my favourite grand slam tournament is shown at night!
I can record it on casettes but I need to wake up in the middle of the night to put in the other casette, then i spend my whole day watching the recording, so I finish watching in time for the next recording time...
And our video recorder records things from Eurosport quietly, so I have to pump up the volume so much and I still hardly hear it!
Anyway, I am amazed by the left-handers, I would not be able to play against them!
Well, I am very happy for Safarova that she beat Mauresmo!!!And Li Na too!Too bad she will play Hingis...who is engaged and I didn't know about it!
Damn, I slept back and didn't record Jankovic' match agains Serena!!!!!!!!!!Pls someone tell me about the match, why did she looooooose?:'(
And, by the way, Mario Ancic is the cuuuuuuutest!!!!:p :p :p
p.s.: This is my first impression of the Australian Open:)
Could not wait for myself to spend the whole day in front of the TV again, getting so excited about playing tennis whenever I watch the Slams, I am wondering about joining the university female tennis team, but I am afraid I don't play good enough for that....what do you think?

have to say, i am sooo bored about men's tennis being like this; commentators don't talk about finals anymore, just about who will be runner up to Federer. i really like how he plays, but i am getting sooo bored, that it is always him...there are so many good young players, they don't even get a chance, for example Djokovic and Ancic...

The Williams and Jankovic match was a disappointment for me also, but I think the main reason for the upset (Jankovic was big betting favourite) was that Williams played at her best and Jankovic was frustrated and gave up the fight. Maybe she burnt out toward the end? I don’t know. Unfortunately I’d like to think Jankovic lost because I wasn’t able to watch it, all of Australian TV went to the 6:00pm news after the first set and the commercial television coverage didn’t start showing the match until 3-3 in the first set. So effectively, all Australians were only able to see about 20 minutes of Jelena on Rod Laver Arena Centre Court. I’m quite upset about that fact, and some of the other matches missing out on commercial broadcasts. Instead it seems Australian TV producers or tournament directors (whoever decides this) prefer showing the older, bigger names like Serena Williams, Martina Hingis and Amelie Mauresmo. Anna Chakvetadze is a classic example. The girl has won 19 from 20 matches, 3 of her last 4 contested tournaments, is quietly through to the quarter finals and still nobody has seen her on TV this year.
Jankovic can easily be proud though, 4 or 5 different injuries on top of foot blisters from hell and she still turned up to The Australian Open 4th round. Hopefully she can now put her feet up, relax and recover. Her big ground-strokes have been great to watch.

Yeah, quite agree with you!Thank you for the detailed update about the match!
NOw then, I have to say, the match Murray vs. Nadal was soooooo good!I was at home alone and I was screaming and shouting to myself!:D
Too bad Murray lost, not that I hate Nadal or anything...
Today I found out that I did pass my exam so I need to study for the second part of it a lot, this means I will not be able to watch any more tennis, which makes me quite sad...maybe I can watch the finals though:P
By the way, I really hate the fact that Clijsters and Sharapova will play before the final against each other (damn me, I already think they will win their matches)...

You’re welcome, and yes Nadal can have that effect on people. I found myself pumping my fists when he did (about 100 times) during that match. Murray has one of the best double-handed backhand I’ve seen. Nadal’s forehand never ceases to amaze me though. He had match point against Wawrinka (3rd round) and hit a magical winner which was perfectly illustrated by “hawkeye” technology. I think I know how he does it too. With the control top/side spin gives, he can be incredibly accurate with the correct mentality. As I have stated before though, the amount of air time the ball has borders on too much for harcourts.
Hmmmm… Clijsters and Sharapova deserve to start as favorites but they are up against 2 formidable opponents, anything could happen in those matches today.

Why does Mats Wilander say all the time as a commentator on Eurosport that one should not show the opponent any expressions that suggest you respect them or that you are tired or you are hurt....he says it almost in every match!!!I am so tired of it:S:S:S
I will not see the matches today!:'((((
When Nadal first won over Federer, I was so happy that finally there is someone who can beat him!I felt like that last time when it was always Sampras and Agassi and Davenport and Hingis playing finals.I really like Federer bcs he knows so many languages, he is an intelligent guy, not that I want to say that sports persons are stupid, but he really is one level above, but then came Nadal, who is this "ancient, natural, pure power and passion" if you know what I mean:)

By the way, I told my friend today, that since the Nadal-Murray match, all I do is pump my fists to everything...I told her, if I go to my exam next Wednesday and go in, I will say to myself "Come on" and "Vamos" all the time:)

Sharapova def. Clijsters 6-4 6-2. Clijsters played crap but Maria played well. A pity for Clijsters to play so bad in her last match in Australia :(
I was at this match live actually at Rod Laver Arena and it was so fun! I took heaps of pictures and will put them up when I get home (I don't live in Melbourne, but the other side of Australia).

oh, you lucky devil!!!
i was sorry for kim too, not that i hate sharapova but i think clijsters never got as many slam titles as she would have deserved! we always said she is so good but justine henin won more titles than her and now that it is her last year, i wanted her to win....but that's life...this shows how much maria wants to win, it scares me sometimes...it feels like a psychological thing for her, i would like to tie her to a chair and tell her that she cannot win the aussie open...she would die of anger:)
