How badly does Kim want this?

You know how Kim has said when she withdrew that she would have continued to play had it been a slam, do you think her last tournament at home would be in the same "category"?

good point, that is exactly what happened last year when I saw her play in Montreal... not sure how much she wants this, but since she is not playing a slam anytime soon, she might play a little hurt, who knows..
