Another change in players category?

I think it might be time... what are your thoughts on criterias for the player coming up and the one downgraded?

I think the only way to do it is by voting from the people in this board.

We will have to decide on the number of player's forums we are going to accept. Then we will nominate all the players who we want to have a forum (we can also choose the ones who already do have a forum, if we want them to keep their forum). This can be done in a nominations thread under announcements. And tell people not to nominate every one of their favourite players, so Davenport, you will have to choose carefully. :D Then you (Pierre) can create a poll of all the players nominated and then pick the top voted ones. So if the number of players forums you want is 20, then pick the top 20. The one problem is that only 10 options are allowed in each poll ...

Does anybody think this is a good idea? Sorry if it isn't clear. It's kind of hard to explain.

I think we need to look at rankings for the players as well as up and comers. For example Molik was of interest 2 years ago but she is not of interest today. Harkleroad of course is pretty and was a hopeful star but she has fallen out of popularity and no one is watching her anymore and she is not really a known player anymore. I think if they are a top 10 player and we see them all the time at the events and they are pretty then they have to been on our main section. Jankovic and Vaidisova are top 10 and should be considered. I also think Anna Chakvetadze is a great up and comer and could be listed.
One last point, are we only interested in young good looking players? Justine Henin # 1 in the Wold is not listed at all? Lets figure out what type of message board we want, do we only want 12 to 18 year old guys into hot young girls or do we want people interested in good tennis players? Just think about this.
One last point, why does Gullickson's need a main section? And Pierce is very inactive and does anyone really follow her? Why does Dementieva not get support?

I think all the players should be put all together in a player's forum, not a player's fourm and a sub-players-forum.

But in the player's forum where you have all the player's names, at the bottom there should be "other players" where we can create all the threads for other players.

Yeah which is why we need to decide on a maximum of player's forums, then have nominations, then vote and then pick the top 'X' players with the most votes.

Frank, the criteria shouldn't be rankings otherwise Dokic wouldn't be in there unless we have 620 players forums.

It should be the popularity of the player because nobody likes Henin or Clijsters so there is no point in having a player's forum for them. Instead you can create a thread in the "Other Player" sub-forum.

Yeah I think there's no way that rankings can be the only criteria...I do think that some players like Vaidisova are obviously more popular than a player like the Gullickson sisters though...

Lets get real, Pierre has a history of being slow, no reason to defend it but the trees move faster than Pierre most of the time. He's a great guy and all that but fast is not one of his skills. In all honesty he has a pretty full plate so everyone here needs to understand Pierre is slow just like the maple syrup they make up in that area.

We all take two votes:
1. Which player's forum should be taken away?
2. Which player should be given a forum?

All forums would be included in the first vote. The second vote would include Vaidisova, Jankovic, Pavlyuchenkova, Ivanovic, Petrova, Stevenson, etc.

And the x players with the most votes get the x amount of forums.

Ok. But wouldn't it be easier just to have a nominations thread will all the player's forums which you want, and then create ONE poll including the player's who deserve a forum, but if you want player's forum's that already have a forum, you have to nominate for them as well. For example, we would have to nominate Dokic... and then we would have a poll and say if we are allowed 15 player's forums, then the top 15 votes will get forums.

That's what I think anyway...

Ok sorry but this is taking way too long. I hope I am not being pushy, but I am about to create the nominations thread. No offence Pierre, but you seem to be taking too long (which I understand is due to exams). Seeing as I seem to have more spare time than everybody at the moment (but not next week, seeing as I have exams :(), I will create the nominations thread.

Nominate for all the players you want to have a forum. REMEMBER TO NOMINATE THE ONES WHO ALREADY HAVE A FORUM, IF YOU WISH THEM TO KEEP THEIR FORUM!
