The Player's Forums Nominations Thread

Seeing as most of us have decided we need some new players forums, let's have a nominations thread. Nominate all the players who you wish to have a forum on the tennisrulz message board. Remember to nominate your favourite players who already have a forum! Once all the nominations are done, all the players are put into a poll and say if we are allowed 15 players forums, the top 15 votes will get a sub-forum on TR!

I also think we shouldn't have the "Other players" section (how it has Clijsters, Domachowska, Pekovic & More). It should all be one list IMO (but you can disagree if you want). :) Player's which do not get a sub-forum, can have a thread created under a sub-forum called "Other Players".

Start nominating! How long do you think we should have to nominate? A month?

I think it needs to be official first, like I suggested in the other thread. When Pierre is ready, he and I can PM everyone, asking them to reply with their ideas. Or he could start a thread after it is formally announced.

Ok. I think I was too excited and randomly decided to create this thread...

And I also think we should only change a few players, not too many, as that would just be silly (to change too many).

I’m trying to constructively criticize here so bear with me.

I think it’s worth considering reconstructing the whole website and doing away with personal player forums. Sure have a “Serbian Sensations” section or “Australian Players” or “American Players” or “Russian Roulette” or whatever. Maybe even have different sections removed from nationality based such as “WTA’s emerging Teenagers” or “Grand Slam winners” etc.

As it stands now there are many personal sections devoted to one single player and there are a few problems with this, not the least being the thoughts and wishes of that actual player. Fore example, did Jelena Dokic want all of her fans to converge onto this website? Maybe, maybe not considering she doesn’t really have a substantial official site. I think these girls would want fans to talk about them on their own site so that they could direct the internet traffic and provide information directly or indirectly rather than a third party like Tennisrulz.

There’s more though, would the players who don’t get a player forum be offended if they came across the site? Or would the ones who do have a forum be offended if they came across the site? It’s hard to say what they are going to read when they do a google search and read some of things on here, and they’re less likely to read much into anything on a general discussion topic.

Of course these are just my thoughts and are the main reasons why I simply don’t care about those sections.
