Final Facts:
--Davenport captured her 53rd Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles title and is currently tied for eighth place on the all-time singles title list (Monica Seles).

--American wildcard Davenport’s run to the final is the latest chapter in her thrilling comeback to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour; the former world No.1 gave birth to her first child, Jagger Jonathan Leach little more than four months ago and appeared in her second final in three events since her return. Davenport captured her second title of 2007 (Bali, Quebec City).

--Davenport is projected to break back into the Top 80 with her win at Quebec City.

--Vakulenko made her first Tour singles final appearance. The closest No.3 seed Vakulenko had come to reaching the final of a Tour event prior to this week had been semifinal losses at Canberra in 2004 and Berlin earlier this year

--Vakulenko became the second Ukrainian to reach a Tour final this year; Alona Bondarenko fell at the final hurdle on the clay of Warsaw this Spring.

--In the doubles final American duo Christina Fusano and Raquel Kops-Jones captured their first Sony Ericsson WTA Tour doubles title. It marked the fourth Tour doubles event that Fusano and Kops-Jones teamed together. While in college at California-Berkley, the two captured the 2003 NCAA Doubles Championships.

Quotes:
Lindsay Davenport, 2007 Bell Challenge singles champion
"My game plan was to serve well and just hold my serve. Once I was able to break her at the end of the first set, that helped my momentum. I was focused on my serving and knew the rest of it would take care of itself."

Julia Vakulenko, 2007 Bell Challenge runner-up
“Definitely she served well. It was just a really nice week, a really nice tournament. Some matches were easy and some were difficult, and I was just happy I could do my best and make it as far as I did."

Christina Fusano, 2007 Bell Challenge doubles champion (w/ Raquel Kops-Jones)
"We're really happy about winning our first Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Doubles title. This week has been great.”

"We've been playing doubles together for almost six years now and know each others' game really well. In the end, I think that helped us get the edge over our opponents today."
