Wow, pretty big surprise hey??? Justine Henin, the world #1 was crashed out fairly easily, a 6-4, 6-0 loss…

I did not stay up to watch the match, I was wondering if she looked ok, she did have a small brace or rap on her right knee, was there something wrong with her?
Also Serena looked horrible in her match and she lost, you could tell Serena was not ok and she was not running much. I think Serena is hurt for sure because in her pre match warm up she slammed her racquet into the ground many times in frustration and anger for no reason.
I think the day in general was a great day for the under-dogs. (Jelena and Maria)

Yeah didn't Serena only hold serve like three times the whole match? That's incredible for probably the greatest female server of all time.

Venus was hurt in her match as well and looked horrible, all I can say is it is nice to not have the Williams sisters in the final and it is about time.

Truth is Hantuchova was cheated out of her match with Ivanovic (AO 2008). The one line call that was in for Hantuchova would have won her the game and tied the match up but the lines man corrected his call and called it out (even if it was in), then Ivanovic challenged the call and it was in with the review but they did not award the call to Hantuchova instead both players lost out and the call stood as wrongly called out (it was clearly in). Hantuchova had indeed won that game but the officials and the rule are horribly wrong. Hantuchova did not have any challenges left so she finally lost that game and it cost her the match. It is truly sad when officials cheat players out of matches and change the outcome of what was a very good match to watch. Hantuchova should be in the final instead of Ivanovic, add on the fact that much of the time Ivanovic's behavior was horrible.
What I can say about the match is that the players performed very well, doing what ever they had to do to win. The officials on the other hand were horrible, the Chair did nothing right and in truth actually did nothing when several times, she should have over ruled very bad line calls.
The leasson learned for Hantuchova is she had the match won in the second set and should never have let Ivanovic back into the match. When you have someone down you have to kill them and never be nice about it, that is what the sport is all about. The match exhausted me and I was just watching. I think in the end, there were no warm feelings from everyone and it was one of the most upsetting matches I have watched.

Sharapova wins the Aussie 2008 Open, nice job. Novak was the winner in an amazing final on the mens side.
