* Henin wins her 10th consecutive Tour singles final; she last tasted defeat in a final at the hands of Serena Williams in Miami 2007.
* Having lost to Venus Williams in the final of the inaugural tournament back in 2002, Henin captures the Antwerp title in its final staging; the event’s other winners were Venus Williams (2003), Kim Clijsters (2004) and Amélie Mauresmo (2005, 2006, 2007).
* Knapp was appearing in her maiden Tour singles final; the closest she had come to a singles final prior to this week were semifinal losses at Budapest, Palermo and Bad Gastein in 2007.
* Knapp is projected to rise to a career-high position of No.36 after her runner-up finish; Henin’s victory consolidates her position as world No.1.
* Cara Black and Liezel Huber win their 13th Tour doubles title in tandem and first of the season; they also triumphed in Antwerp last year, defeating Elena Likhovtseva and Elena Vesnina in the final.

Final Quotes
Justine Henin, 2008 Proximus Diamond Games singles champion:
"Today was much better for me than the last few days. The crowd was supporting me a lot and I felt really good about my game. I've played three tournaments this year and won two of them so it's a good start. The trophy is beautiful here too - Amélie has it at home because she won here three times and I think we all want to win it too! Unfortunately, since this is the last year of the tournament, I don't think I'll ever win it. But this was an amazing experience and I'll never forget it, and I'll keep fighting in the next few years to try and put Antwerp back on the calendar."

Karin Knapp, 2008 Proximus Diamond Games singles runner-up:
"This was a difficult match for me - it was my first time playing Justine, and she put lots of pressure on me coming into the net so much. But I tried my best and still played well. It was a great week, reaching my first final, and at a Tier II too. I just hope I can keep playing like this."
