- Zvonareva wins her first Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles title of the year and the sixth of her career; it is her second Tour singles title on clay, having won her very first on the same surface at Bol in 2003; she is now 6-7 lifetime in Tour singles finals, although she has eight runner-up finishes (she withdrew prior to the Hobart final earlier this year due to a left ankle injury).
