Maria won her opening match yesterday defeating Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 and will now face Andrea Petkovic in her next match!

Wow, when is the last time Maria made a final? I'm trying to remember! It will a tough one against Azarenka but already taking out Dementieva and A. Radwanska were two very solid wins! Well done Masha and hope you have another one in you!

Wow, it has been a while since we've seen a big battle like this. Maria might not be at her best but I remain convinced that she is one of those players you never want to face in Wimbledon and this should be a great show:)
Maria has a tricky draw in Wimbledon, she could face Hantuchova in round #3 and then Serena Williams in the 4th round, seems like a very early matchup:(

Maria unfortunately came up short losing her opening match against Lucie Safarova
I'm not too sure why she is not playing in Dubai with all the top players, but she has decided to enter in the lower ranked tournament a week later in Memphis, let's hope she can do well, she is by far the top player in the event.

She is playing the Hong Kong tennis classic with a bunch of other stars, teaming up with Vera Zvonareva and Yevgeni Kafelnikov.. been a while since we've seen him:)

Usually, Maria likes to play a few exhibitions at year end and since she did not play as much this year because of injuries, I would think she would play a few, but have no heard anything yet...
She is playing in Tokyo and after an unconvincing effort in her 1st round, she put up a solid score taking out Samantha Stosur 6-0, 6-1 in the 2nd round..!
She lost to a girl who was playing well, but really did not have much weapons..

Maria has been rather impressive so far and today she's a fairly heavy favourite against Kleybanova, would be awesome if she played Serena in the final!
