Biography

Marion Bartoli was born October 2nd 1986 in Le Puy en Valay from parents Walter (a doctor) and Sophie (a nurse). She started playing tennis at age 6. She has one brother, Franck, who is in the French army.

Among her best accomplishments, Marion won the 2001 Junior US Open at age 14. She played her first pro tournament at age 12, in 1999. Marion played her first WTA tournament at the 2001 French Open where she lost 6-4, 6-3 in the first round (after receiving a wild card).

As a pro, a big moment was in January 2003 when she entered the top 100!
