June 17th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Eastbourne losing in the 2nd round 2 sets against France's Marion Bartoli, a 7-5, 6-3 loss.

June 16th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in the Eastbourne 1st round posting a 3 sets win against Serbia's Jelena Jankovic, a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 win. In the 2nd round, Anna will face Marion Bartoli.

May 25th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Roland Garros losing in the 1st round 3 sets against Columbia's Mariana Duque-Marino, a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 loss.

May 14th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open losing in the 3rd round 3 sets against Ukraine's Alona Bondarenko, a 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 loss.

May 11th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in the Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open 2nd round posting a 3 sets win against Australia's Samantha Stosur, a 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 win. In the 3rd round, Anna will face Alona Bondarenko.

May 9th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in the Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open 1st round posting a 2 sets win against Spain's Virginia Ruano-Pascual, a 6-4, 6-3 win. In the 2nd round, Anna will face A.Radwanska or S. Stosur.

May 5th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in the Rome 2nd round posting a 3 sets win against Canada's Aleksandra Wozniak, a 5-7, 7-6, 6-3 win. In the 3rd round, Anna will face Venus Williams.

May 4th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in the Rome 1st round posting a 2 sets win against Spain's Annabel Medina-Garrigues, a 6-2, 6-3 win. In the 2nd round, Anna will face Aleksandra Wozniak.

April 29th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Porsche Tennis Grand Prix losing in the 1st round 2 sets against Italy's Flavia Pennetta, a 6-2, 6-0 loss.

April 26th 2009: Wow, a very surprising loss by Italy this weekend as they lost their Fed Cup semifinal loss 4-1 to Italy:( Flavia Pennetta defeated Anna Chakvetadze 6-4, 6-0, then Francesca Schiavone gave Italy a 2-0 lead with a win over Svetlana Kuznetsova. Svetlana then won against Flavia  but a 3 set win by Francesca Schiavone against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova gave Italy the win!

March 29th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Sony Ericsson Open losing in the 3rd round 2 sets against Belarus's Victoria Azarenka, a 6-1, 6-4 loss.

March 27th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in the Sony Ericsson Open 2nd round posting a 2 sets win against Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova, a 6-3, 6-1 win. In the 3rd round, Anna will face Victoria Azarenka.

March 15th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in BNP Paribas Open losing in the 3rd round 2 sets against Israel's Shahar Peer, a 6-2, 6-4 loss.

March 13th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in the BNP Paribas Open 2nd round posting a 2 sets win against Russia's Ekaterina Makarova, a 6-3, 7-5 win. In the 3rd round, Anna will face Shahar Peer.

February 16th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Dubai losing in the 1st round 2 sets against Japan's Ayumi Morita, a 7-5, 6-2 loss.

February 8th 2009: After all, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Dementieva teamed up in doubles defeating Sun/Yan 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 to lead Russia to a 5-0 win!! Congrats to the Russian girls! They will now face Italy!

February 8th 2009: Great news as Russia advanced easily. After taking the 2-0 lead yesterday, Anna Chakvetadze defeated Zi Yan 6-1, 6-2 and Alisa Kleybanova won 6-1, 6-1 against Tian Tian Sun, Russia now leads 4-0!!

February 7th 2009: Great news for Anna and the Russian team as they took a 2-0 lead in the Fed Cup first round match against China today!!! Svetlana Kuznetsova won 6-2, 6-4 against Zi Yan and then Elena Dementieva won 6-3, 6-0 against Shuai Zheng!!!

January 21st 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Australian Open losing in 3 sets against Australia's Jelena Dokic, a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 loss.

January 19th 2009: Good news today as Anna won her match in Australian Open posting a 3 sets win against Britain's Anne Keothavong, a 6-1, 6-7, 6-1 win. She will now face Australian Jelena Dokic!

January 12th 2009: Sad news today as Anna lost her match in Hobart losing in 3 sets against Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro, a 7-6, 1-6, 7-5 loss.

January 10th 2009: Russians lost the final in Hong Kong in the final against America. Yesterday, Venus Williams defeated Anna 7-6, 6-3 but Vera Zvonareva defeated Gisela Dulko 6-4, 0-6, 6-3. Then today in the final day, Anna lost 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to Gisela Dulko, and Vera Zvonareva lost 6-2, 6-2 to Venus Williams. In the final doubles, Anna and Alexandra Panova lost 6-4, 6-1 to Venus Williams and Coco Vandeweghe.

January 8th 2009: Anna was in action in the 1st day of action in Hong Kong as she and Vera Zvonareva won their match against Team Asia! Vera won 7-6, 6-4 against Jie Zheng and then Anna won 6-4, 6-4 against Sania Mirza!!

December 30th 2008: Anna will be replacing Maria Sharapova next week in Hong Kong and will team up with Vera Zvonareva to represent Russia:)
