May 12th 2008: Russia announced its line-up for the upcoming Olympics as Elena, Anna Chakvetadze, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Maria Sharapova will form the team. In doubles, Dinara Safina and Vera Zvonareva will play as well as Svetlana Kuznetsova (although it's uncertain who she will play with).

May 11th 2008: After all, Elena came up a bit short, she was defeated by Dinara Safina 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the final today in Berlin...

May 10th 2008: Elena won her semifinal match, another impressive win, she won 6-2, 7-5 against Ana Ivanovic to reach the singles final!!! She will now face fellow Russian Dinara Safina...

May 9th 2008: Good news as Elena won her match today in the Berlin as she defeated Serbia's Jelena Jankovic with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win, she will now face Ana Ivanovic or Agnes Szavay.

May 8th 2008: Good news as Elena won her match today in the Berlin as she defeated Russia's Vera Dushevina with a 7-5, 6-3 win, she will now face Maria Kirilenko or Jelena Jankovic.

May 6th 2008: Good news as Elena won her match today in the Berlin as she defeated Ukraine's Katerina Bondarenko with a 6-1, 6-2 win, she will now face Alisa Kleybanova or Vera Dushevina.

May 4th 2008: In another match, Elena defeated Agnieszka Radwanska 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the consolation final, where she also won, avenging her loss by defeating Marta Domachowska 6-3, 6-3!!

May 1st 2008: Elena was in action in an exhibition match in Poland but she was surprised losing 6-3, 6-4 against Marta Domachowska:(

April 20th 2008: Sad news as Elena lost her match today in the Charleston as she lost to Russia's Vera Zvonareva 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.

April 18th 2008: Good news as Elena won her match today in the Charleston as she defeated Switzerland's Patty Schnyder with a 6-4, 6-4 win, she will now face Vera Zvonareva

April 17th 2008: Good news as Elena won her match today in the Charleston as she defeated Belarus's Victoria Azarenka with a 6-4, 7-5 win, she will now face Patty Schnyder.

April 2nd 2008: Unfortunately for Elena, she continued to suffer from a lower back injury and just wasn't up to the challenge, she ended up stopping at 6-1, 3-1 down against Jelena Jankovic...
