June 25th 2009: Good news today as Svetlana won her match in the Wimbledon 2nd round posting a 2 sets win against France's Pauline Parmentier, a 6-1, 6-3 win. In the 3rd round, Svetlana will face Sabine Lisicki.

June 23rd 2009: Good news today as Svetlana won her match in the Wimbledon 1st round posting a 2 sets win against Japan's Akiko Morigami, a 6-3, 7-6 win. In the 2nd round, Svetlana will face Pauline Parmentier.

June 19th 2009: Svetlana declared she would be giving an important portion of her gains to the church. “I am planning to buy an accommodation in Moscow, I am still renting an apartment. Also, I have promised to myself to buy a good expensive watch. The majority of the money I am going to donate to my church. There the director of orthodox temple is my spiritual father. I try to to be there as often as possible, to think about something personal, something eternal. But I have a very busy schedule. Occasionally, the father himself visits me. … No matter how strange it sounds, I am a very religious person and try to attend church even in other countries.”

June 16th 2009: Sad news today as Svetlana lost her match in Eastbourne losing in the 1st round 2 sets against Canada's Aleksandra Wozniak, a 6-0, 6-3 loss.

June 6th 2009: Congrats to Svetlana, she played very solid tennis, she ended up defeating Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-2 to win her 2nd career grand slam, her first time winning Roland Garros!! “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time,” Kuznetsova said. “Really, I didn’t expect it to happen this year, but I give my best, I played with all my heart, I had unbelievable matches, I had unbelievable support. It’s my favorite tournament.”

June 4th 2009: Good news today as Svetlana won her match in the Roland Garros semifinals posting a 3 sets win against Australia's Samantha Stosur, a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 win. In the final, Svetlana will face Dinara Safina.

June 3rd 2009: Good news today as Svetlana won her match in the Roland Garros quarterfinals posting a 3 sets win against USA's Serena Williams, a 7-6, 5-7, 7-5 win. In the semifinals, Svetlana will face Samantha Stosur.

April 26th 2009: Wow, a very surprising loss by Italy this weekend as they lost their Fed Cup semifinal loss 4-1 to Italy:( Flavia Pennetta defeated Anna Chakvetadze 6-4, 6-0, then Francesca Schiavone gave Italy a 2-0 lead with a win over Svetlana. Svetlana then won against Flavia  but a 3 set win by Francesca Schiavone against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova gave Italy the win!

February 8th 2009: Great news as Russia advanced easily. After taking the 2-0 lead yesterday, Anna Chakvetadze defeated Zi Yan 6-1, 6-2 and Alisa Kleybanova won 6-1, 6-1 against Tian Tian Sun, Russia now leads 4-0!!
