May 15th 2008: Sad news as Svetlana lost her match today in the Rome as she lost to France's Alize Cornet 2-6, 4-6.

May 14th 2008: Good news as Svetlana won her match today in the Rome as she defeated Belarus's Olga Govortsova with a 6-2, 6-0 win, she will now face Alize Cornet.

May 12th 2008: Russia announced its line-up for the upcoming Olympics as Svetlana Anna Chakvetadze, Elena Dementieva and Maria Sharapova will form the team. In doubles, Dinara Safina and Vera Zvonareva will play as well as Svetlana (although it's uncertain who she will play with).

May 8th 2008: Sad news as Svetlana lost her match today in the Berlin as she lost to Ukraine's Alona Bondarenko 6-1, 2-6, 2-6.

May 7th 2008: Good news as Svetlana won her match today in the Berlin as she defeated Colombia's Catalina Castano with a 6-3, 6-2 win, she will now face Alona Bondarenko.

May 4th 2008: Svetlana was up against Maria Kirilenko once more, this time in the final of vthe Warsaw exhibition, she won again, a 6-2, 6-3 win! Congrats:)

May 3rd 2008: Svetlana is currently in action playing an exhibition event in Warsaw, Poland. She won her 1st match 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 against Maria Kirilenko and then defeated Lindsay Davenport 6-4, 6-4!

April 27th 2008: Svetlana only played once today after Russia had already secured the win, with Vera Zvonareva defeating Vania King. After a loss by Elena Vesnina to Asha Rolle, Svetlana and Elena Vesnina lost in doubles... Still a 3-2 win for Russia, they will face Spain in the final.

April 26th 2008: Good news for Svetlana and the Fed Cup team as they took a 2-0 lead in this weekend's semifinal against USA. Anna Chakvetadeze defeated Vania King 6-4, 7-5 and Svetlana defeated Asha Rolle 6-2, 6-1!!! It's looking good!

April 3rd 2008: Svetlana saw her tournament in Miami come to an end, she was defeated by Serena Williams 3-6, 7-5, 6-3...

April 1st 2008: Good news as Svetlana won her match today in the Sony Ericsson Open as she defeated Venus Williams with a 6-4, 6-4 win, she will now face Serena Williams

March 31st 2008: Good news as Svetlana won her match today in the Sony Ericsson Open as she defeated Shahar Peer with a 7-6, 6-3 win, she will now face Venus Williams

March 30th 2008: Good news as Svetlana won her match today in the Sony Ericsson Open as she defeated Victoria Azarenka with a 1-6, 7-5, 6-0 win, she will now face Shahar Peer

March 28th 2008: Svetlana started off her run in the Nasdaq Open as she struggled but was able to defeat Yung-Jan Chan with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 win.. In the 3rd round, Sveta will face either Tatiana Perebiynis or Victoria Azarenka.
